From a hot vintage year, this Riesling shows a tremendous amount of balance – it is a bit sweeter than our other Rieslings, but has the perfect amount of balancing acidity. The nose shows notes of sweet Red Delicious apple, ripe Anjou pear, and fleeting passion fruit notes. On the palate the sweet apple notes come through, as well as the fruity-floral Anjou pear notes, but are balanced by a lush acidity reminiscent of ruby red grapefruit.

Currant and plum appear on the nose, with a bit of clove for balance. On the palate this wine is easy-drinking and has red plum, crisp nectarine and a bit of peppery spice on the finish.

From a stellar vintage, we have returned to Rick’s favourite Meritage blend – 50% Merlot, 24% Cab Franc, 26% Cab Sauv. Whether drinking now or holding, this will easily be a favourite, go-to bottle.
